Adams rib

I could never understand the Biblical story, of Adam and Eve, relating to the fact that Eve was created from one of Adam's ribs.

When one considers The Creator (The Holy Father) as masculine and his creation, the physical world (Mother earth), as feminine, the narrative makes some symbolic sense.
